New York; nd [ca. 1874]: Scribner, Armstrong and Co., 413pp., 6 undated ads at rear with last page reading "From the Earth to the Moon Direct.". with 52 illustrations by Riou, "sold only by subscription " and considered to be the elusive deluxe edition bound in green pictorial gilt cloth with accents in black depicting three men on a raft, pictorial gilt spine depicting two men in a cave with lights. No
foxing, no owner's names, inner hinges fine, some chipping to spine ends with a bit of wear through
at corners, edges rubbed, a couple of signatures somewhat sprung but tight and a very small stain to
rear board. A handsome copy. [pb.3665]

edition, frontispiece, 284pp., illustrated with 48 illustrations by Riou, bound
in light blue pictorial cloth illustrated in black, pictorial gilt spine, light
darkening to spine otherwise a very bright, sharp copy, nearly fine. Verne's
three works contained in the "round the world" series included South America,
New Zealand and the present work, Australia. It was later released in a one
volume edition containing all three stories. [pb.2119]

(8)pp., publisher's ads, illustrated, bound in a handsome red pictorial cloth
depicting a ship leaving the harbor, title gilt spine lettered and decorated in
black, rear board decorated in black, all edges gilt, light wear to corners and
spine ends, scattered foxing throughout. a very good copy with covers quite
bright. Verne's work was a serialization, mainly in Jules Hetzel’s periodical:
the Magasin d’Éducation et de Récréation (for short, Magasin). Then they were
published in book form, the Hetzel’s in-18 edition, which is always the first
original edition. This edition, is the first illustrated large-format book by
Hetzel. [pb.2121]
